What are the holidays but a reason to come together to celebrate one another? This December, if(we) donned our suavest attire and perfected our poker faces to do just that at Casino 848, our end-of-the-year holiday bash. The well-earned celebration of a year’s hard work took place within the opulent Lodge at the Regency Center, where daring high-rollers and apprehensive beginners alike tested their luck at blackjack, craps, and roulette for a chance to win one of the fabulous prizes offered in our raffle.
We kicked things off with the finale of our Q4 Poker Tournament, in which resident poker-sharks Tyson Andre, Calvin Lee, and Dzyun Nguyen vied for the coveted title. In the end, it was Calvin who was victorious, claiming the 1st place trophy and winning a substantial travel voucher.
For dinner, the chefs prepared an array of fine foods that included duck confit risotto, stuffed pork loin, and pommes frites with tarragon ketchup. The open bar crafted some inventive cocktails, like the Moonraker’s Mule - a tantalizing combination of moonshine, elderflower liqueur, ginger beer, mint, and absinthe. We also had an absurdly fun slow-motion videobooth, complete with all kinds of props and costumes!
After party-goers had their fill of fine food and games of chance, our new CEO, Dash Gopinath, congratulated our co-founder and outgoing CEO, Greg Tseng, on his decision to travel the world, sending him off not only with heartfelt gratitude but also with the gift of 5 if(we)-sponsored experiences across the globe. Following this proverbial passing of the torch, Dash revealed our Weeble winners: Simon Hill and Robyn Stewart took home our quarterly Weebles and Shirley Cheung-Beall won our prestigious annual Spirit Weeble. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!
The announcements left the room in a positive buzz, and party-goers hit the dance floor hard, ending the night in true if(we) fashion. Till next year (or next Friday), you party animals!
