if(we), the company I co-founded and have led for over 11 years as CEO, has an important and worthy mission to enable meaningful connections between people. We operate Tagged and hi5, which are already enabling millions of connections each day, and we are building new social products with the vision of creating the next billion-user social product. I love this company and believe in what we’re doing. I am proud of all that we have achieved and am excited about our future.
To realize our future vision, in service to our mission, we need and deserve a CEO who can lead us there. That was me for over 11 packed years at the helm, but I know myself well enough to know that is no longer me. I have found someone better-suited to lead us in our next phase of growth. So, from a place of love and gratitude, I have decided to do what's best for the company by stepping aside to make way for a great new CEO.
Our new CEO is Dash Gopinath. Dash joined us last summer as Chief Product Officer and, earlier this year, became our Chief Operating Officer. In only a year and a half here, Dash has been instrumental in transforming the company from Tagged Inc. to if(we), setting company direction and strategy, greatly improving execution and output, transitioning Tagged and hi5 to mobile, and setting us up to launch new social products. Dash has proven himself to me, and I believe he is the best CEO for our next phase.
On a personal note, if(we) is and will always be my baby so making this transition is not easy for me, but I am comforted knowing that I’m leaving the company in good shape and in good hands. I have complete trust and confidence in Dash and our team to build if(we) into all that it can be. I will continue to stay involved as a Board member and look forward to supporting Dash and if(we) in that capacity.
Please join me in welcoming Dash as our new CEO!
